Mumbai - St. Xavier's College

This fall semester exchange program at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, offers a rich cultural and academic experience in India's financial capital. Open to sophomores and juniors from the College of Arts & Letters and the College of Science, the program immerses students in traditional Indian higher education with courses taught in English. Mumbai is home to industry leaders in finance and scientific research, and students will have the chance to explore the city's two UNESCO World Heritage Sites and vibrant culture.

Participants will engage with local students in courses across disciplines like arts, history, political science, psychology, chemistry, sociology, and more. Many courses focus on Indian culture, providing an in-depth understanding of the region. Students are required to enroll in a minimum of 5 courses (equivalent to 15 U.S. credit hours), with academic flexibility as course offerings will be finalized upon arrival.

  • Fall Semester: Early June – Late October
  • Course Load: 5 courses (15 US credit hours)

Delhi - Ashoka University

The exchange program at Ashoka University, located near Delhi, offers an immersive cultural and academic experience in the vibrant Sonipat region. Students from the College of Arts & Letters, College of Science, Mendoza College of Business, and the Keough School of Global Affairs can explore India's rich history while studying at a top liberal arts institution. The Delhi region boasts iconic landmarks such as the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and bustling markets like Chandni Chowk, blending historical and modern attractions.

At Ashoka University, students will join a diverse community of local and international peers, taking courses taught in English. The program fosters personal growth, cultural exchange, and a strong sense of community, similar to Notre Dame, while allowing access to the dynamic city life of Delhi.

  • Spring Semester: Mid-January through Mid-May
  • Course Load: 4 courses (4 credits each), with an optional 2-credit co-curricular course in arts or languages
